Maroon PR Services
Podcasts are a great way for businesses to provide in-depth content to audiences interested in specific topics, causes or industries. Though podcasting has been around for a long time, this media format has gained popularity in recent years due to the increased use of mobile devices and growing interest in on-demand content.
Recorded as digital audio files, users can stream episodes from a computer, or subscribe to receive episodes to a mobile device or tablet. Podcasts are developed as series on a topic or campaign, or as reoccurring, timely episodes aimed at covering topics as they arise in your industry. Like a radio show, podcasts have a regular host and often feature compelling guests.
MPR has been producing podcasts for clients for several years. Podcast production is led by MPR’s multimedia editor with support from our content team. We own a suite of professional recording equipment that includes microphones and headphones for up to four (4) guests. The equipment travels easy, and podcasts can be recorded in any sound-controlled setting with access to electrical outlets. Guests can either join in person or call-in by phone.
Our team handles the recording and editing of the podcast. Editing includes music beds, intros and exits, and transitions. We typically suggest a monthly recording of two seperate episodes that get published bi-weekly.
Additionally, MPR’s scope of work includes:
– Securing a hosting platform and full management of your hosting account
– Management of your podcast on the major podcast directories such as Apple & Google
– Naming, branding and development of supporting assets needed to promote your podcast
– Working with clients on overall content strategy, editorial calendars and episode notes
– Coordinating of guests as needed
– Clients typically provide the podcast host but MPR can secure a professional host for an additional fee, if needed.
A podcast host is the place where you store and distribute your podcast’s audio files. Hosting services provide a podcast RSS feed (basically a listing of all your episodes) that gets submitted to Apple Podcasts and other popular podcast directories each time you publish. The platforms also provide analytics, web players, scheduling tools, and other features to make publishing and growing your podcast seamless. MPR has worked with many hosting platforms, and will work with your team to find the platform that best fits your needs. Each platform requires a small monthly fee.
Once an episode is edited and approved for publish, Maroon PR handles uploading and copy editing for each episode, along with assistance with social messaging and other amplification efforts for your podcast to reach audiences.
