Media Success for Port Covington Groundbreaking Event
The latest phase of Weller Development Company’s Port Covington project, a 235-acre mixed-use redevelopment project in south Baltimore, kicked off with a ceremonial groundbreaking on May 13. Maroon PR managed media outreach and assisted media on-site at the milestone event.
Utilizing its strong media relationships, the Maroon PR corporate team secured RSVPs from more than 10 media outlets prior to the event. Covering the event were reporters from all four Baltimore TV stations, including WJZ-TV, WBAL-TV, WBFF-TV and WMAR-TV, along with reporters from the Associated Press, Baltimore Sun, Baltimore Business Journal, The Daily Record, WBAL Radio, SouthBmore.com, and more.
Following the event, Maroon PR leveraged its connections in the commercial real estate and technology sectors to secure added coverage in valued national business publications including Shopping Center Business, Technical.ly, Construction Dive and CityBizList. Also, in addition to more than 100 outlets across the country including The Washington Post running the Associated Press coverage of the groundbreaking, the story was highlighted as Maryland’s big news of the day by USA Today.
