Recently, our team participated in a unique exercise that combined two key elements: our agency’s diverse voices and the power of cutting-edge technology.

As part of our year-end company meeting, we asked each member of our team to submit their own personal elevator pitch about Maroon PR. If you’re not familiar with the term, an elevator pitch (or elevator speech) is a brief, compelling summary of who we are, what we do, and what sets us apart. In this exercise, our goal was not only to define Maroon PR through our shared values, strengths, and vision, but also to showcase the power of generative AI and introduce ChatGPT as a valuable addition to our toolbox.

By analyzing our individual pitches, ChatGPT was able to recognize the themes that tied our responses together—our expertise in earned, owned, and paid media, our focus on building meaningful relationships, and our values-driven approach to PR. It also captured the tone of our agency—approachable, creative, and results-focused.

The outcome? A fresh, unified elevator pitch that is now the “About Us” section on our homepage. Check it out:

Following this introduction, Amanda Sarver, our Vice President of Social Strategy & Content, walked us through the methodology used, explaining how ChatGPT processed and analyzed the various submissions to create a unified output. We discussed best practices, ethical and environmental considerations, ways to integrate AI to enhance our workflow and efficiency, and the importance of utilizing our expertise and knowledge to appropriately and effectively harness the power of this new tool. We also played “Spot the Bot” to learn how to identify AI-generated copy and gain an understanding of AI’s shortcomings, reinforcing the need for refinement that only a knowledgeable human can provide.

While it’s natural for new technologies like generative AI to spark concerns about the future of certain roles, we believe the key to staying relevant isn’t resisting change—it’s embracing it. By leaning into this technology, we’re positioning ourselves to  stay at the forefront of our industry.

We continue to collaborate to learn how best we can utilize AI to support our creative processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the services we provide to our clients. As we explore this evolving technology, our focus remains on using AI as a tool to complement—never replace—the strategic thinking, authentic storytelling, and meaningful relationships that define Maroon PR.
