Maroon PR recently organized a press event in Pittsburgh on behalf of the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation and partners to announce plans to bring a new youth athletic field to the City of Pittsburgh. Our team worked closely with the City of Pittsburgh to plan the event, secure media attendance and handle social media efforts during and post event.

The announcement was held at City Hall, where the City of Pittsburgh, the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, Dan Towriss, CEO of Group1001, and Pro Football Hall of Fame Running Back Curtis Martin shared plans to design and construct the new youth athletic field in honor Martin. After the announcement, the media was given a tour of the future home to the new multi-sport synthetic turf field which is located near the Homewood neighborhood of Pittsburgh where Martin grew up.

Media outreach efforts resulted in coverage by all prominent print and TV outlets in Pittsburgh, including the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Tribune-Review, Pittsburgh Sports Now, KDKA-TV CBS Pittsburgh, WTAE-TV ABC Pittsburgh, WPXI-TV NBC Pittsburgh, FOX53-TV Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Cable News Channel.

Combined media and social media impressions totaled over 2.5 million, equaling over $78,000 in ad value.
