Major League Baseball (MLB) and USA Baseball announced its new program, “Hit and Run Baseball,” designed to encourage youth and amateur participation in modified forms of the game.  The program was created to help players develop their skills in an interactive format combined with player health and safety initiatives.

Cal Ripken, Jr. serves as a special adviser to MLB and is a part of the Hit and Run Baseball committee, which will guide strategies and adjustments to the program as it grows.  Ripken Baseball, Maroon PR’s longtime client, is one of the primary organizations actively supporting Hit and Run Baseball.

In addition to his roles with Hit and Run Baseball and MLB, Ripken helped launch the program by serving as a spokesperson for a series of national media opportunities which Maroon PR helped coordinate.  Working in tandem with the MLB and USA Baseball communications teams, John Maroon accompanied Ripken in New York City on May 22 to conduct interviews with ESPN’s “GET UP!,” The Associate Press, Yahoo! Sports, and MLB Network.
