Golf has always been a passion of our agency owner, John Maroon, and we have been fortunate to work on several prominent golf events in the area over the years…The PGA Senior Players Championship on several occasions at both Baltimore Country Club and Caves Valley Golf Club, as well as the inaugural LPGA International Crown at Caves Valley. In August of 2021 the prestigious BMW Championship, the penultimate tournament of the FedEx Cup playoffs, is coming to Baltimore and Caves Valley and once again Maroon PR was called to handle the media announcment.
The 2021 BMW Championship will bring the top 70 golfers in the world to town and marks the first time it will be hosted in the State of Maryland. It is expected that the tournament will draw 150,000 spectators from all over the country as well as utilize 2,000 volunteers and create over $20M in direct spending impact for the area.
“When the team at Caves Valley called us to get us involved, we were extremely excited,’ said Maroon. “Our entire agency will be involved and it will have such a wonderful impact on Baltimore, Baltimore County, the State of Maryland and the entire region. It is an honor to be a part of it and to work with a prestigious club like Caves Valley, the Western Golf Association and the PGA Tour is thrilling beyond words.”
The initial announcement alone has generated widespread news coverage and excitement throughout the area and the golf world.
