Maroon PR is proud to announce that Jen Renehan has been named Chief Operating Officer for Maroon PR, overseeing daily operations and providing long-term planning and strategy for the Maryland-based PR agency.
“I am thrilled to announce that Jen Renehan has been promoted to the role of Chief Operating Officer here at Maroon PR,” commented John Maroon. “Jen has been with the agency for over a decade and our personal relationship goes back nearly 20 years. She has become a true leader of our agency and this is a natural stop in her career path. I am excited to have Jen take a more forward-facing role externally and, as we grow, have her focus more energy on long-term planning and strategy.”
Jen joined Maroon PR in 2013 to lead the agency’s social media services, and shortly after moved into a Vice President role to oversee and grow the agency’s social media, branding and content development services. During this time, Jen has taken on a leadership role in helping with the agency’s operations and working alongside John Maroon on strategy and client services.
“I am thrilled to be taking this next step in my career with Maroon PR, and more importantly, continuing to grow alongside John Maroon,” commented Jen. “He’s been a mentor to me since day one, back was when I was an intern just starting on my career path. With over 18 years of public relations experience, Jen’s career has paralleled the growth of digital marketing and communications. She has been a driving force in Maroon PR’s evolution from a media relations agency to a creative communications agency that drives growth through earned, owned and paid media. As COO, Jen will lead daily operations alongside John Maroon and focus her attention on the agency’s strategy and growth plans moving forward.

Favorite thing about Maroon PR:
Our office environment is pretty spectacular. Working from home during the pandemic was challenging for many reasons, but most of all, I missed being around the team .. and the endless supply of nitro brew coffee!
What is life like outside of Maroon PR?
When I’m not working hard for Maroon PR, I’m busy chasing my 2-year-old daughter Charlotte and spending time as a family with my husband Ryan and our 11-year- old lab, Eddie. Our world is Charlotte and it’s been so extraordinary to watch her grow into a little person! And when I can, I love time with my friends. My group of childhood girlfriends are still close to this day!
What is one word that gives you purpose?
TEAM. In life, you have to depend on your team. Whether your family, friends, or work team, life is about forming great relationships and supporting people. This is something that was instilled in me at a young age and to this day, I believe in the power of team mentality. Through my years here at Maroon PR, I have always been committed to being a team player, no matter my role, and surrounding myself with a great team.
Favorite Maroon PR moment:
So many moments come to mind, and there have been so many rewarding projects with non-profits over the years. But I have to go way to when we first started working with Big League Chew, and an idea I had to create a Shaquille O’Neal sized Big League Chew pouch of gum. The Big League Chew production team made it happen, and the giant pouch ended up landing on the set of TBS and into Shaq’s hands. I live for a good PR moment!
