A former daily newspaper reporter, Jeff brings more than 25 years of expertise in positioning and reputation management to Maroon PR, with a strong background in media relations, media training, crisis communications, and social media strategy.
Jeff’s experience includes leading the social media command center for Baltimore’s largest outdoor tourism event, the Star-Spangled Spectacular celebration of the 200th anniversary of our National Anthem. He also handled PR for the Grand Prix of Baltimore and Major League Baseball Properties during the 64th All-Star Game promoting Upper Deck All-Star FanFest.
His client experience includes E-ZPass Maryland, Thurgood Marshall Baltimore/Washington International Airport, Park City Mountain Resort, and ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” as well as clients in senior housing, law, real estate, insurance and business-to-business. His crisis communications experience includes managing PR for the National Transportation Safety Board’s longest and most complex investigation in connection with an apartment explosion in Silver Spring, Maryland, and for US Lacrosse during the Duke lacrosse case.
A three-time Silver Anvil award winner from the Public Relations Society of America, Jeff serves as regional editor for the Capitol Communicator and co-founded Podville Media in Washington, D.C., where he co-hosted the “Practically Social” podcast.
Jeff’s journalism career included reporting for daily newspapers in Ohio, New Jersey, and at the Capital-Gazette in Annapolis. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Ohio Wesleyan University.
