Our Process
Social Media Marketing has become an effective and integral component in any successful PR & marketing campaign as organizations are now presented with the opportunity to engage with customers in real time.

At Maroon PR, we first conduct a comprehensive social media audit of our client’s current platforms and initiatives. After identifying their specific needs and discussing their short and long term goals, we set up branded platforms with connections to all applicable ancillary pages and services. We then develop a coordinated program suited specifically for the digital “voice” and “tone” our clients choose to share. We also coordinate our efforts with each client’s in-house team to ensure consistency in style and messaging and to promote a sense of community by facilitating social integration.

With social media’s ever-changing pace, Maroon PR ensures that as these tools evolve so do our tactics. For instance, we’ve seen the explosive development of GPS specific applications as well as the growth of QR codes for mobile devices and newer social networks such as Pinterest. Maroon PR offers an analysis of each platform as well as a comprehensive strategy to leverage the new platform or technology on our client’s behalf.

Results
Maroon PR works closely with clients to develop digital strategies that include channel selection, content development, blogger outreach relations, and PPC advertising, as well as robust reporting metrics and analytics. Under our supervision, last year Maroon PR’s clients saw impactful growth with average increases of over 30% more “likes” on Facebook and over 81% more “Followers” on Twitter. We conceived and facilitated numerous live Facebook “chats” with our clients an/or their spokespeople and we created numerous innovative campaigns.

Select Viral Campaigns
Our viral campaigns include the creation of the phenomenon that has become SGT Stripes, the official social media character of the Military Bowl, presented by Northrop Grumman and benefiting the USO. In less than two weeks, @SGTStripesMB garnered more than 130 followers and coverage of the social media character has appeared in a variety of media outlets, including the Chicago Tribune, Yahoo!, Washingtonpost.com and more.

SGT Stripes was created as a fun, unique social media character designed to bring attention to the Military Bowl on social media, helping to propel ticket sales and allowing the bowl to support military families in a greater capacity as funds raised through ticket sales are donated to the USO. The SGT also provided an increased awareness of all the USO’s great work.

In addition, Maroon worked with Cal Ripken Jr. on a daily blog chronicling his State Department trip to Japan that was picked up by the Huffington Post, Baltimore Sun, MASN Sports, Comcast SportsNet, Press Box, the State Department and more. In addition, the Associated Press ran stories prior to the trip and near the end of the trip that had pick-up across the country, including on ESPN.com, the Boston Globe, the San Francisco Chronicle among others.
