Goal! Maroon PR Scores for the Baltimore Ravens

Prior to the July 28, 2012 all-Premier League soccer game held at M&T Bank Stadium, the Baltimore Ravens hired Maroon PR to help engage local and national media, manage media relations, drive ticket sales, and raise awareness for the game and spokespeople associated with the teams. The 2012 match between Tottenham Hotspur Football Club and Liverpool Football Club marked the third year the city of Baltimore hosted international soccer teams at M&T Bank Stadium.

Throughout the course of the project, Maroon PR successfully increased awareness about the game, ticket sales opportunities, social media pages, and the teams involved by cultivating relationships with media members. In addition to standard media outreach, Maroon PR also organized media tours for key individuals associated with each team.

On the day of the event, Maroon PR managed the national and international media in attendance, supervised the stadium’s press box and aided stadium operations in any additional logistical help needed. Maroon PR was also responsible for the coordination of press conferences with coaches and key players from each team.

Resulting media exposure from the soccer match and its preceding events included coverage from USA Today, the Associated Press, FOX Sports, Sirius XM Radio, The Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun, and all major Baltimore television stations. Coverage secured by Maroon PR was also picked up by outlets such as ESPN and Sports Illustrated. With such widespread coverage of the match, ticket sales grew above the original goal set by the Baltimore Ravens.
